Is WordPress suitable for an online store?

Why are there so few Russian online stores on wp? After all, it is simple, there are a lot of video tutorials about WordPress, themes for customization. What pitfalls am I not aware of?

WP is suitable for a blog with commercial elements, such as a NGO site, a Charitable Foundation, etc. If you want an online store, I advise you to look towards OpenCart.

Americans stole rocket plans from Russians. Collected - turned out to be a tractor.
We studied the drawings for three years, sort of figured it out, began to assemble again - again a tractor.
In the end, they found a specialist from the Russians.
He took it, once again - he made a rocket. Let's ask how? And he says:
- Immediately it is written: "... at the end to process with a file"!

For an Internet kiosk will do.
This is a problem with all modular and non-specialized CMS. Why suffer with crutches if there is more suitable software for this?

A lot depends not only on the CMS, but also on the developer... And so, why not make IM on WP

If you want to quickly deploy a simple store, then do it on Wordpress + Woocommerce.
We do simple small shops on this bunch and don’t worry. Woocomerce 3 is very good for a store. All the minimum necessary functionality for the store is there.
In addition, there are large stores on this CMS. We have improved them. Their attendance is not like that of dns, but decent enough. They work at the federal level.
