Is webpack needed to replace npm / gulp?

The question is purely theoretical, and does not claim a Nobel Prize. Just curious to know what webpack is supported for

@Olek1

what is webpack supported for

I think, so that the creators can somehow get money.
Webpack is "one more" handy tool for creating a script/style file, processing images in some way, and other possible things. In other words, another handy tool for web development.
Gulp does pretty much the same thing. Another popular one was (and is) - grunt . Just three similar tools, each with its own pros/cons (as usual). There are also various other less popular (in my opinion) "collectors/task runners".
Npm is slightly off topic in this comparison. But if we talk about the "convenience" of development - then the topic. With npm it is more convenient) but it is a package manager and its task is different from the tasks of webpack/gulp/....
