Two years since I switched - yes, it fits perfectly.
The web server works faster, it is easier to set up (in general, software is installed and configured incomparably easier and faster), the environment is closer to production.
A powerful terminal where with a simple line you can do what you need a dozen, or even more than one clicks.
It is convenient to work with network resources - ftp, sftp - all in the usual file manager, no additional software.
SSH is also out of the box and works fine, telnet doesn't make gibberish from Cyrillic.
Many console tools that are either missing in Windows or not convenient because they work from the command line (most likely ported from Linux).
IMHO, the environment (DE) is more convenient, which you can choose according to your taste and configure if necessary.
In general, there are many little things that you get used to right away, and you no longer want to refuse.
Just a popular distribution. Well, not_Windows, which is cool, hipster and youthful. Steeper only poppy.
Yes!
I have Ubuntu at work for all web developers who do not have a poppy ;)
I also know a few in other companies, so it's worth it.
Why? Ubuntu has a good community for example
And how does the installation of this product affect the programs? Well, that is, I meant that (also according to rumors) many programs may simply not work. is it true? And how do we go through the installation of different software?
If you rarely use Photoshop, then you can go, but if you often have an AMD Radeon video card, then I do not advise you. I have never been able to get photoshop to work smoothly under Linux.
Yes. I've been doing it there since 2009 to the present.
Main source of income.
