There is a 2.5 IDE hard drive. I bought such
an HDD adapter with it, it is determined, SMART is excellent in all attributes except temperature.
If you take testing, then no red and other "shuddering sectors" are found, but if you copy files during testing, green and orange sectors begin to appear. I'm sorry about the switch.

Well, if you simultaneously check the disk block by block for access speed (linearly) and copy files there, then in any case, the check speed will drop significantly, because the read head will jump back and forth between the track being checked and the track being written. And moving the head is a rather slow operation.

The adapter is passive, there is nothing special to break. There may be errors in the wiring, but the size of the board is very small, errors are unlikely to cause a critical failure.
