Is there only inverse regression in matlab?

Are there ready-made methods for performing inverse regression in matlab? There are methods stepwise, stepwisefit, stepwiseelm, but all of them, as I understand it, first perform forward regression, and then backward. Is it possible to somehow carry out only backward selection? And if possible, how? Please provide examples of such methods.
