Is there any chance to get money back?

Good afternoon, hackers.

My first purchase on EBAY ended in failure. I spent money and did not receive the goods ... :-( Help, what to do in this situation. The story is as follows:

I bought a snowboard on ebay in January. I chose as advised - I found a top rated seller who has a lot of sales and positive reviews, I chose a product. When I added the product to the cart, the seller contacted me and said that everything was OK, he would send the product. I calmly waited for him. The time has come for the “deadline” in terms of delivery, but there was still no parcel with a snowboard. When asked when to expect it, he said don’t worry, he sent the parcel, in Russia they reach you for a long time. Another month passed, and smelling something was wrong again asked about the package, to which he replied that everything was ok, it was being delivered. I asked for the tracking number of the package so that I could check the delivery status myself. He said he would send it later. After a while, I asked him again, but again he replied that, they say, do not worry, the package is being delivered, and he requested the number of the departure from the warehouse. After waiting a few more days, I strictly decided to return the money for the goods. And here the most interesting began.

When trying to create a refund request through ebay, I was told: The deadline has passed to open a case. It turned out that the last day to protest the purchase is March 4th, and I simply did not find an opportunity to send a letter of complaint anywhere. I decided to try to return the money through paypal. But here, too, disappointment awaited me - paypal also refused to open a request for a refund, because. more than 45 days have passed since the transaction was made. Paypal also offers to resolve the issue through ebay. But, as I described above, nothing happens. Naturally, all this time I wrote to the seller with questions “what the hell”, but he just stopped answering me.

Tell me how to be in this situation? Can't I get my money back for a product that wasn't delivered? The amount is rather big - almost $ 500 ...

There is a chance to return via VISA / Mastercard.
This is a percent. called credit card chargeback. Up to 180 days.

Contact the bank and demand a refund.
If you deducted directly from your PayPal account, it will be more difficult.

Most likely you won't do anything. Ask the seller for shipping details. Perhaps the post office is to blame. Did you leave feedback to the seller? If not, try to leave a negative one, then, if it comes, change it. Perhaps this will make him move a little and find out what is with the package.

Well, here you are, as they say, an evil Pinocchio to yourself ... If you hadn’t missed the time, you would have received 100% money back, if the seller cannot provide a track - they don’t stand on ceremony with him for a long time if there is a track, but it follows that the parcel has not been received, they will ask you to wait 15 days and also return the money if the package has not arrived. I've had this more than once.

Oh, and how many times they wrote, if the package does not arrive within 40 days, we sculpt a negative review, open a dispute on paypal, and then listen to the sellers about what is about to arrive ...

Write a regular request from the link at the bottom of the "Contact Us" page. Enter the transaction ID and other data. Try.

There should be two inscriptions on top - “You won this auction” and “View order details”. Click "View order details", information about your purchase opens. At the bottom there is a listing of goods and in the same place opposite there is a link “Leave feedback”. Try it, maybe you can leave a review in this way.

I didn’t use ebay, but such a not entirely decent option comes to mind - register again under a different name or ask a friend to buy anything from the same seller and until the time for a negative review has come out, as happened in this case, lower the rating of the villain and then already I think there is a chance that he will contact you ...
Well, the moral side of the issue remains in question ...
