Is there an editor with the ability to show changes relative to a specific branch/commit?

In visual studio code (and many others) it is possible to view the changes that will be made by the current commit, something like this:

Only uncommitted changes are displayed, if you make a commit, they will not be displayed. Is it possible to somehow enable the display of changes relative to a specific branch or commit? Or maybe there is an editor with such an opportunity?

The fact that I can view them - I know. I would like to see them exactly the same as uncommitted, but with a different color in the section below, for example, and the ability to turn on / off the display. To have a complete picture of what I changed there with all the commits relative to the other. Now for this you have to create a merge request and view the changes.

Look at the plugins, and in general there are excellent Jetbrains products that are the de facto development standard today
