Is there an alternative to QIP (for any protocol) with good hotkey support?

I am looking for an alternative for QIP / ICQ to work, to communicate in a team. Requires good support for hotkeys, such as:
Open latest message.
Show/hide the list of users (program window)
Send a new message with the choice of correspondent using buttons instead of the mouse, etc.
With everything that I saw without a mouse it is unrealistic to work.
