Is there a way to install FreeDos from Windows 7?
Is there a way to install FreeDos from Windows 7? Created a FAT32 partition on a hard drive. But the FreeDOS installer itself from a 64-bit system naturally does not start. What would you recommend in this situation?
In general, I thought of copying to that FDOSBOOT.BIN section and subsequently loading it with GRUB. I have not contacted FREEDOS before and I don’t know what to call the bootloader, I didn’t see this file as part of the distribution.

Excuse me, but why do you need it?
There is dosbox for running old applications, there is a virtualbox / vmware player for virtualizing any OS, there are quite exotic options like hyper-v roles in windows 8 / server 2008/2012
and freedos is usually what comes with ready-made laptops "without OS" to check that they seem to start and somehow work, and after buying such a miracle, linux / windows is usually installed on it according to the preferences of an IT-savvy user
Can you see the contents of the boot sector on a FAT32 partition?
What system files does the bootloader look for? IO.SYS?
If so, put the Fridos KERNEL.SYS on that partition under the name IO.SYS
And you also need COMMAND.COM
This is enough to start the system.
In general, it's better to play around with FreeDOS in VirtualBox first, with a dense reading of the documentation on it along the way.
Or run from a SystemRescueCD flash drive, it includes a FreeDOS floppy disk image.
