Is there a PDF parser that can either parse the table itself given a given column width, or at least return the coordinates and height-width of blocks of text?

Given: PDF with table, fixed width columns.
I just can’t find a PDF parser that can either parse the table itself with a given column width, or at least return the coordinates and height-width of text blocks.
Languages: preferably php, but in principle any that can run on Linux on a server.
