Is there a mailing solution better than Debian + Exim + Mailman?

Colleagues, share your experience in technical terms!
There is a website, an online auction, and you need to raise a mailing service on a separate server.
So that everything is as it should be: subscription, unsubscribe, a list of email clients in the mysql database, etc.
I want a ready-made solution so that I can write a minimum of my own code. The address base will be large, so services like mailchimp end up being very expensive. It's probably cheaper to raise your own server; or I'm wrong?
I did something similar about 8 years ago, I used Debian + Exim + Mailman + mysql plugin for it.
Maybe now, there are some better solutions?
