Is there a detailed manual for Android firmware?
A preamble that is not directly related to the question: I have an Android tablet on hand, I want to install a newer version of the OS; flashing experience - absent, computer proficiency level - high (hopefully).
As a rule, flashing guides are concise and actively use slang terms, for example:
Installing 4.4.4 on the P1000 via the restock:
1. We make a backup copy of all the files in the internal memory.
2. Download everything you need here (GDrive).
3. Through Odin, we first flash GB_Stock_Safe_no_boot.tar (pda) with GT-P1000_MR.PIT. (After the firmware, be sure to download Tab, you can skip the initial setup.)
4. Next, flash the kernel with cwm (zImage_eur_3_1_1.tar) as a pda part. (After the firmware, be sure to download Tab, check for superuser.)
5. We drop firmware 4.4.4 (omni, cyanogenmod, from storm31 or mokee) onto the flash drive, as well as gapps (pico or pico uni, for mokee separately) and supersu (for omni ).
6. Load tab into recovery and flash firmware 4.4.4. The tab will reboot into a new recovery.
7. We do wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, format system.
8. Without leaving the recovery, flash firmware 4.4.4 again, then gapps and supersu (if omni).
9. Reboot and enjoy!
To update the firmware from 4.0.x-4.3.x, just follow steps 5, 7, 8 and 9.

You will not find complete manuals for the firmware of any device anywhere. The reason is that each device is flashed in its own way, and nothing else. Let's say an example of an instruction is suitable for Samsungs, while this is firmware through a computer. I have two devices, one is a phone on MT6589, the other is a tablet on RK3188 (these are platforms), and each of them uses its own program and sequence of actions. In addition, on almost all devices, you can change the firmware using recovery - roughly speaking, this is a service OS, recovery mode.
This I moved away from the essence of the question a little) But if, in fact, you need to look for separate articles on the Android device in general and on the firmware of your device in particular.
If the example given is for your tablet, then you need to find the following information:
And then it's just a matter of your curiosity. :)
