Is there a book describing the very structure and principles of the computer?

Hello.
I want to find a book describing the operation of the Computer in all its aspects. Where and what is located, and what is it for.
For example: what is HDD? Its working principles and technologies used, and how it interacts with the rest of the PC.
While I found the book Code. The secret language of computer science , but confuses her in 2004, given how much has changed since that time.

given how much has changed since then.

And what happened? Was the von Neumann architecture replaced with something more progressive? Have quantum computers already captured the non-Euclidean fields of trans-horizon structures and are chasing bosons around the corners of processor black holes while we watch cats on YouTube?
No, it's the same nonsense, nothing new.
So read on.
