Is there a beautiful linux but not ubuntu?
Greetings.
Now I'm using elementary OS. It has a cool appearance, it is not heavy (normal ubuntu could lie down from the browser and code editor), quite functional, kind to beginners, like ubuntu requires graphics drivers, but does not suffer without them like ubuntu itself (until there are no drivers even put the browser lagged).
But she has one more similarity with the usual ubuntu.
Mobile Internet. For reasons unknown to anyone (who I asked, and I asked on many forums) for reasons, all ubuntu-like systems (that I managed to try) have problems with mobile Internet.
It often seems to disappear. There doesn't seem to be a request. You have to refresh the page. Sometimes 10 times, and sometimes wait for several minutes. The Internet is not used anywhere. And so on everyone.
Moreover, if you spend the Internet continuously (downloading video, torrent), then there are no gaps.
In general, without solving the problem, I am looking for a linux distribution kit with a pleasant appearance (look at the appearance of elementary OS, if you have not seen it) and not ubuntu.
Still, he would have the same functionality (hot corners, root in two clicks, virtual screens), but this is not so important.
If only it did not fall from a small load and there were no problems described above.
The second will be determined experimentally.
Thank you for your attention, I'm waiting for your applications. Thanks in advance.
PS: Since this is on ubuntu, then on debian it may be the same. But only can.
PPS: Everything described above is a special case, ubuntu is actually the best system in the world, better than mac os, windows and everything that comes after them, and microsoft itself paid me for the post.

You need a shell, as mentioned above.
And better Mac OS X - the best Linux =)
Linux is for work, not whistleblowers.
If you need whistles, but you don't want viruses, then there are makos.
And if you want to drive games, there is a special firmware for game consoles, the people call it by default.
In fact, you don’t need a separate distribution kit, but a shell, as far as I understand, in Elementary it is forked from Gnome Shell, with its own modifications, in fact it can be installed on any distro.
Most likely your problem will be on non-ubuntu based distros as well.
My recommendation is Arch Linux.
It is more difficult than ububna, but it is not ububna)
Install, look, choose the shell to your taste and color, arch allows.
Do you understand that Elementary OS is Ubuntu + Pantheon Desktop which is just a shell?
And then there is Ubuntu 12.04 (on which the stable Elementary OS is built), and there is Ubuntu 14.10, in which it is much more fun with graphics and many other things, and by connecting the xorg-edgers and oibaf repositories, it’s a song!
By the way, I have a 4k monitor, and graphics performance is very critical for me, especially in games, so Unity is much faster than Cinnamon (Linux Mint), Pantheon (Elementary OS), and a little faster than GNOME3.
So you can try to install GNOME3 which comes with Fedora for example (latest versions are good). The things you need are there, be prepared to install extensions for convenience, to be honest, without them, GNOME3 is not very suitable for everyday use.
What's a modem?
Everything in ubunts with modems is good, I have been using them for 9 years in various forms under it.
There are shitty modems that do not comply with the standards - yes.
