Is the YSlow plugin buggy?

I check the site through the YSlow chrome plugin . It says js and css files are not gzipped. Tested in other services like google pagespeed and gtmetrix. No one swears at gzip. How can I check one hundred percent whether gzip compression is enabled or not? Maybe the plugin itself is buggy?
