Is the MacBook Pro 13 worth buying?

Hello! I am studying for an IT specialty, I want to buy myself a computer for study for the next 5 years. The choice is between MacBook Pro 13 mid 2017 and mid 2018, is it worth overpaying for the latest version, or is the difference so small that the penultimate one will do? At school, a computer is needed exclusively for programming in C ++ and Phyton, working in programs like MathCAD, and writing reports. Which one do you think is best for this? And whether the 13th is suitable for this at all. First of all, the comments of direct users are of interest. Thanks in advance :)

Here every second post about it.
The bottom line is, if you choose between models without a touchbar, there is almost no difference. If we compare the 13ku with the touchbar of 2018 and 2017, then the 2018 model already has a 4x nuclear i5, which is more powerful than the top-end i7 in 15" macbooks of 2017. In my opinion, the choice here is obvious. In addition, the flexgate problem and the 3rd generation keyboard have been eliminated in the 2018 models.
Even if you are looking at models without a touchbar, I would advise you to add $400 and take a model with a touchbar.

there is a macbook pro 13 2017, from what infuriates it, either the macos has become more filthy, or the built-in Intel video core does not take out the retina, the system interface is often jerky, scrolling is not smooth, when browsing and when you turn large projects and files with code in ide , clings to the eye and infuriates, not like an apple one, especially considering the overprice for these devices, otherwise ok, the autonomy is excellent, the display quality is also, if the keyboard does not bother, with which I have had no problems for almost a year, then ok typewriter

Hello. I also wanted a small one, I took it ... I need a 13-inch one for show-offs (they say I bought a macbook), and if you write code Take ONLY 15 inches, you won’t regret it, it will be more convenient for your eyes! It is always worth taking a fresher model - if only because the processors are more energy efficient - it will last longer. But if by means of tightness - take it older)
