Is the iPod Touch Enough to Test iPhone Apps?

Hello.
Question for iPhone app developers.
If you believe the reviews, then the iPod touch 4G is comparable in performance to the iPhone 4. But it confuses twice the amount of RAM. The new iPod touch 5G, as far as I understand, is a screen like the iPhone 5 + stuffing from 4S.
Will the iPod touch be enough to test fairly simple games in development? And if so, which generation (4G / 5G) should you focus on?

Depends on the application itself and its functionality. Some, such as the game The Heist and others, can output sound to the phone speaker. If such outlandish functionality is in the application, then, of course, the iPod is not enough. But in the latest models of iPods, the difference with the iPhone is somewhat smoothed: they, like a smartphone, have a regular and front-facing camera, both of which are powerful enough for almost any type of application.

The iPod is enough for all tasks, but there is one limitation. Unlike the iPhone, there is no built-in GPS, so navigation-related applications cannot be fully tested (wifi-point navigation will work).

Depends on what you are going to test. If functional testing is enough. If it is load, it already depends on the minimum system requirements of the game and the characteristics of the device. I will say that my team did functional testing on the simulator + iPod Touch for a while, while the project started and the iPhones were not yet purchased.

This is a good option, the iPod is often used as a gaming device.

I play 4 generations of iPod on all modern, 3D games. Everything is going great.

If you take, then only the fifth. The fourth really lacks 256 megs of RAM. For simple games, it may be enough, but this is not a fact, since with each version of iOS it consumes more and more RAM, so it does not become more for games. And the A4 itself is already a bit old.
