Is the iMac Retina good for web design?
Good afternoon!
I am engaged in web design, I decided to purchase an iMac 27", at the moment (Jan. 16) 99% of iMacs with retina are on sale. The
question is for web designers: is it comfortable to design sites on a retina display?
There is a lot of information on the Internet that someone works with layouts at 200% scale, someone runs Photoshop in low resolution mode, someone creates a layout 2 times larger (for example, if you need a layout of 1200px wide, create 2400px, and then when sending source codes to the layout designer is reduced by 50%), etc.
Are these “crutches” relevant now or has this problem been solved and you can easily do web design on the retina?

what you describe does not apply directly to the designer's workplace, but rather to the development process. Now we need to prepare pictures for screens with DPI from 400 to standard 72.
Well, yes, if you are still using a raster, then switch to vector graphics where possible. And you can automatically reduce the slicing.
Yes, in full, the workspace will be larger and the colors will be cooler, if the task is to focus on the retina, then it must be taken into account, and if not, then you can make layouts as usual.
