Only with practice. Otherwise, everything will fade. The advantages of certain approaches can be understood only on personal experience within the context of the task.
The book is definitely worth it.

It makes no sense to just teach. It is necessary to set a task and look for tools to solve it. Now I will download the book, look through and answer.
The author begins to explain OOP with classes (Chapter 3, p. 39). For a beginner, this can be a little confusing for me. Well, it's a big book (577 pages), it's hard to write a big book that isn't useful.

This book may give some insight, but I would start like this:
Grady Booch. It is not necessary to read everything, everything that concerns the very essence of complexity in his book is probably the first 100 pages. You will understand what OOP is for at all
- PHP manual
- This book
- And as the most basic storehouse of knowledge - martin fowler - enterprise software application architecture

Thank you all for listening. As far as practice, I totally agree. I always reinforce such literature with practice.
