The other day I decided to solder a kinect adapter for a PC according to the instructions https://habr.com/ru/post/109710/ (only connected the power to the molex)
Soldered, isolated. To celebrate, I turned it on and it doesn’t work, but the + 5v wire from the usb port melts.
USB port version 3.0

KZ you have. Looks like they mixed up plus and minus. Turn off the molex, take a multimeter and check the polarity
