Is TDD/BDD used in real development everywhere?

Hello.
I'm currently reading a book on TDD, plus watching tutorial videos from the mail group and its partners. And it turns out that everywhere they say that TDD is cool, but when they ask themselves: "Do you use it?" - everyone makes sour faces and "it didn't work."
Therefore, the question is: is TDD really used in development, or is it the lot of perfectionists who want to write clean code for a long and tedious time and obey the tdd-goat?

Однако при написании приложений enterprise-уровня, на мой взгляд, использование TDD/BDD обязательно.
