Is Macbook Pro 13 (late 2013) up to date in 2019?

Good day to all! Going to pick up a 2013 Macbook Pro 13 in the aftermarket. Needed for study, in particular for keeping electronic notes, and simple everyday tasks. The plans are to take 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. I chose between Air and Pro, but still the Retina display took its toll.
So, will its power be enough for everyday tasks (and, possibly, programming)? Is this node up to date? If yes, how long will it last?

Enough for the tasks described. The main thing is that the internal drive is an SSD and in good condition.
You may want to expand the RAM as much as possible. The 13-inch screen, in my opinion, is small. Better than 15". But you can also connect an external monitor.
I also use firmware 2008 for music and 2011 for programming, in both I replaced disks with SSDs, RAM to the maximum (4 and 16) are quite workhorses.
An important limitation of hardware "- the latest version of OS X that can be installed on them. Say, for MBP 2008 it is El Capitan, for 2011 High Sierra. Newer OS X will not fit on them.

I have one, late 2013 8/256. Enough for everything. I am a developer. I am completely satisfied with the device, I do not plan to change it for at least a couple of years.

I now got late 2011 17'' and it is quite enough for all tasks.
