Is Linux + Android Studio worth it?

Good afternoon. I'm completely newbie in programming, I reached level 16 in Java Rush, and decided to take video tutorials for Android developers. I installed Android Studio on my Windows 7 and there are more and more problems not at all because everything works in the guides, but the AMD processor and laptop are not typical every 40 minutes a new problem and Google is tired of everything. So I'm thinking of switching to Linux, I read a lot of good reviews about development in Linux, advise which version to install. and is it worth it.
Thank you for your attention.

every 40 minutes a new problem and all Google is tired

Then Linux won't work for sure :)
With Google, it's up to you. In Linux, there will be even more questions.
Should I install Linux? It's definitely worth a try. What version? Ubuntu latest stable build, because. a lot more documentation to start with.

Personally, I'm more comfortable with Linux. (I use Xubuntu 14.10) Everything works faster. A little to teach the console and the outer shell and everything will be okay. Do not chase after 15.04 - it is damp. Try!!

For similar reasons, I switched about two months ago. I tried different assemblies, tables, etc. If the laptop is weak and the RAM is less than 4 GB, then take Xubuntu, which is not such a beautiful desktop as in Ubuntu, but it eats very few resources, and most of the guides from Ubuntu are suitable. I set up a PHP environment, I also set it up because it is needed for Netbeans to work.
If the machine allows (I have a dual-core i5, SSD and 6 GB of RAM), then take Ubuntu (I use 15.04).
And I recommend to put it at least in parallel, otherwise it’s not quite right on a virtual machine. You will suffer for a couple of days, set up everything you need and you will continue to use it.
I did not regret that I refused Windows. Now I only use photoshop on a virtual machine.

I use Android Studio on Xubuntu 14.10 and am very happy with it. I used it on Windows 7 before, and from the differences I can only note lower performance and periodic problems with connecting devices (more precisely, with running applications on them - this just sometimes didn’t happen. Perhaps the reason is that it was still a beta version of Android studio).
On Linux, however, you will need a little more preparation to work. For example, in order for udev to allow a device to connect, you need to manually register the vendor ID of this device (there are guides on the Internet, nothing complicated). I also had problems on Xubuntu with the keyboard falling off in the studio, it somehow conflicted with IBus (also google how to solve this).
To work on machines that are not very productive, like your laptop, I advise you to install Xubuntu 14.10 or 15.04. Everything works fine for me, and the Internet will help to sort out the problems that arise - most likely, it will not work without them at all :)
