Is it worth switching from a Windows laptop to a MacBook?

Apple experts, I need your advice.
I thought about switching to Apple products, in particular, to their laptops. The laptop is needed purely for home use (i.e. cinema, web surfing, working with doc, etc.), so it will most likely be Air. Before that, I had never used Apple products and in the process of looking for the advantages of the transition, several questions arose:
1) Connecting Mac Book to a monitor - in the Win system there is a mode when you can turn off the laptop screen when you connect a monitor / TV. I use this mainly when watching videos on TV, does the MacBook have a similar mode for 2019? (I don’t really want to lower the brightness or do other dances with a tambourine)
2) I heard that the new MacBooks have problems with the keyboard, they say, because of debris, the keys can refuse, how relevant is this problem? There is no desire to use any pads for
the keyboard 3) Again, they write that the keyboard leaves scratches on the monitor over time and, again, you need to use some pads
. Apple, of course, has obvious advantages, such as long battery life, but in general I catch myself on Thoughts that you want an apple laptop just to show off in a cafe, but maybe you can convince me? :)

1) you can conjure with the terminal. but these are the same dances with a tambourine. human options - fn + F1 and brightness to zero, or even simply - close the lid so that there is a gap of a couple of centimeters. The inner perfectionist suffers, but it is simple and practical.
2) in the first versions of the problem were. almost all is well now. almost. there are still troubles, but the horror that was in the first revisions is gone.
3) (here IMHO)
Keyboard marks on the screen have two causes. the first - no need to carry a beech in a tightly stuffed bag. it shrinks and the lid crawls along the clave scratching the anti-glare). the second (at least before) - the anti-glare coating on the screen is afraid of fat (or sweat, or a combination of sweat with fat, xs), so if the user is a slob and spreads a layer of dirt on the buttons, this layer of dirt is then as indicated in paragraph 2 in a tightly stuffed bag rubs on the screen - traces remain on the screen.
a laptop with a clean keyboard that isn't carried around in a stuffed bag will have a normal screen. I have late 2013 proshka is still clean and immaculate.

If so, then it will make no difference to you - a laptop on Windows or Mac.
Do you want to be "show-off" and have extra money? - get a Mac.
If you are a practical person, you can safely take a laptop on Windows.
In addition, a laptop on Windows for the same amount (for example, for $ 1500-2000) will be many times ahead of the Mac in terms of performance and power of iron (if you suddenly love to play, including)
Mac would be the best solution if it were you need for programming, development, etc.

This is the first time I hear about problems with the keyboard. I had only one problem on laptops with a keyboard: the cat decided to have a sweet sleep on an open laptop, and when I tried to take it off, he decided to insist on his own and grabbed the buttons with his claws. In the end, I tore off the cat along with a few buttons. But this is not on apple) I just remembered by the way.
To go or not to go, just like to be or not to be) Take it, try it. At first, the unusual interface may annoy. And when you get used to it, you will only remember Windows in nightmares. In any case, among my friends who switched from Windows to Apple, not one regretted it and did not return back.

I was given an MBP 2019 13` at a new job, before that I didn’t have much contact with apple laptops.
The laptop is fire, seriously.
The touchpad is so good that I stopped using the mouse on the first day.
The keyboard is normal, it is pleasant to type on it, the key travel is short and clear, there are no phantom clicks. If the crumb gets under the key - consider it stopped being pressed, on the apple website there is an instruction on how to properly purge the keyboard from blockages.
With a monitor connected, when the lid is closed, all windows are automatically transferred to the monitor.
In addition, the monitor can be connected via USB TYPE-C, if you have a monitor without USB TYPE-C, then you will need to buy an adapter with HDMI.
The built-in speakers are good, even the bass is present, you can safely listen to music on them.
The screen is also not bad, if you turn on a moderate night shift, then your eyes do not get tired for a whole day of work.
The laptop weighs about two kg, it is not difficult to carry in a bag.
As a result: an excellent laptop for work and home for your money, if you are not engaged in tasks that are demanding on the performance of iron.

As a user of Windows and Mac, starting from Leopard 10.5 on the same hardware, I can say: if your nature is to receive "alien")) knowledge is normal, then everything will be fine, get used to it, it seems to me, no more than six months. I mean the system interface , fundamental differences from Windows. When I have to reboot into Windows out of necessity, it jars me. From its interface, maybe from something, it doesn’t matter, there’s no desire to understand, there is something more important to do. When I return to the Mac, I feel like as if relaxed, like, well, now you can just not rush anywhere.
So do not fool around - if you can accept something other than habits, you can safely take it))
