Is it worth learning TypeScript?
2016 is already visible outside the window, and MicroSoft Corporation will soon release the next version of ts into production. But is it worth getting close to studying it? Will you learn it and would you recommend it to your friends?
UPD: 0.0.1 The
first answer appeared, which was not "unexpected" for me, because I myself became very attached to ts. And in fact, I'm sure that if we convene a conference of programmers today, most of them will come out FOR its legalization.
And I did not ask this question in order to hear what I already know. And I asked him in order (here I will stop and ask you to answer only very honestly) to find out - and if this language was released by adobe, would you also advise it to your friends? Here typescript is already an as3 clone and each time it becomes more and more similar. And if not to prevaricate, then would you teach him and advise if he were presented as as3, which compiles to js?

If you personally like it, then use it for your projects. For work, it is worth teaching only if you join or organize a team where they already write to the fullest or plan to write on it. Otherwise, I also lean towards ES2015. If something to learn in the first place, then the future of the JavaScript language, and only then everything else.
But I don’t like this whole story with TS, who knows, maybe this is another Dart or CoffeeScript. Better, it seems to me, to go deeper ES20xx. Suddenly tomorrow Microsoft will say - the project is closed, thank you all, or the Angular team will announce version 3.0 in a year and say that now only JS.
