Is it worth learning Java from Herbert Schildt's Java 8 Complete Guide?
I'm just starting to learn java, I wanted to know if Herbert Schildt is suitable for beginners or should I start with another book?

As mentioned by Eugene Aristarhov Shield, Bloch and Horstmann leave to reference books. Eckel can, you need to read later, but for learning I would advise Head First Java Cathy Sierra, Bert Bate - for a beginner, the very basics of Java are explained quite well
Если уже есть опыт в других ЯП, посмотрите в сторону Джошуа Блох «Effective Java».
Better Horstmann, Eckel and Bloch, and leave Schildt as a reference. There are a lot of simple descriptions of classes and their methods, and this is boring, and not everyone will be useful, and with modern IDEs it is not necessary to remember all this - the main thing is to know in which direction to look.
In addition to books, I would also recommend video tutorials by Yuri Tkach. Very clear and simple tells
