Is it worth signing up for Yandex Practicum courses?

After a long break, I decided to return to teaching. I became interested in courses from Yandex Workshop on JAVA. I myself am currently reading Schildt and Prokhorenok, and also doing JavaRush. Tell me, who knows: is it worth signing up for these courses in order to gain knowledge and skills for further employment / enrollment in an internship. Or is self-study plus JavaRush enough?

4 directions for Java developers (Front-End

However, you didn't read the textbook well. Java is in no way applicable in frontend.
what literature to read after Head First

Tutorial "Head First" starter. After it, it is better to deepen the knowledge of the language. Eckel's "Philosophy of Java" will help with this.
I ask for your help with choosing the direction of Java development

I recommend trying everything and deciding for yourself.
and also what are the entry thresholds

Java has a high barrier to entry into backend development. Higher than in PHP or Python. It is better to have a solid base and at least some experience in desktop development before jumping in. And big data is generally for professionals with many years of experience and an excellent mathematical base.

@jkotkot

You need to start with the so-called core java collection, input / output, multithreading. As a rule, this is best learned when working with the backend. After understanding the basics, you can move in any direction .. even an android, even a big data.
