Is it worth it to start preparing for the programming Olympiad in the 10th grade, and which language is better to choose?

I'm in the 10th grade, I want to start doing Olympiad programming (I already know the basics of Python).
Will I have enough time to prepare to take the winner of the list of programming Olympiads? Or is it better not to take risks and prepare for the exam in computer science?
Is Python enough to take the winner of the list, if not, what is worth learning?
