Is it worth it to pay for paid courses to get certificates?

It makes sense to pay for a course, for example, on www.coursera.org, or when applying for a job, no one will be interested in such certificates.
P.S. I am currently working as a junior c++ developer in one of the design bureaus.

How many interviews I conducted - I never asked about certificates like that.
And by the way, there was a funny person, he just had a certificate. Yes, even much more serious than you mentioned.
This person was hired without my knowledge by a NON-TECHNICAL head of the company (apparently, for a certificate).
This person with a certificate - was one of the dumbest workers.
I have clearly indicated my attitude to certificates and their usefulness???
