Is it worth installing pirated software on a corporate Mac?
Hello.
I work for a large pharmaceutical company and from the first day of my work I hated their lenovo and their windows, which is given out as extra baggage. Because at the time of employment, I already had a macbook and knew what torment was under windows, and even more so on lenovo, then I began to use my personal macbook for work.
Everything would be fine, but my colleague and I knocked out two brand new macbook pro 13 "(stuffed) with retina. Now there is a short wait until the IT people upload the necessary software (office 11, makaffi!) And you can work. Therefore,
the question arose if I put on this macbook has a lot of pirated software, can the company somehow determine this fact?
Usually, guys from the USA do this in large corporations, and there were times when they asked to remove pirated software from Windows, but then Mac!
Thanks for the advice.

what exactly are you concerned about? Will they be able to find the fact of the presence of pirates? will they search? Has the matter been put on stream so much that the consequences are inevitable?
Or is it just the management's fear that not specific employees, but the office itself, will be held accountable?
if the first - I understand that a personal poppy has already been there for some time? and there is pirated software? Haven't they come with handcuffs yet? well, in general, google the legislation for what exactly is punishable - downloading software from the Internet or distributing it.
if the second is to write a piece of paper that a specific employee is assigned to be responsible for the operation and other aspects of the macbook serial number, then it’s quite enough to take off for the office, as far as I can tell.
