Do it yourself
Ngv, 2015-10-13 13:05:42

Is it worth doing this for your project?

Hello! I am a simple student, naturally I don’t have a lot of money, and I’ve been thinking about the project for a huge amount of time, but unfortunately, in order for the project to work, you need to make a gadget, and searching on the toaster led me to 3 options:
1) Make it yourself from microcontrollers and other details
2) Order a ready-made solution
3) Take an Arduino electronic designer
But even more problems arose, namely:
1) I don’t understand circuitry well and I’m unlikely to assemble it in a short time, plus, mistakes will cost me dearly
2) Too expensive, prices start at 50,000 rubles and reach several million
And there is only 1 option left:
3) Nothing complicated, the Internet is full of schemes, I will assemble the finished device in a couple of weeks
Is it possible to make such a project on the constructor, show it to the public, offer it to customers, and if it "tramples" then order a normal solution?

It seems that after reading about successful startups, you decided: "Oh, here you can make some quick money." But you have neither the knowledge nor the desire to understand all this.
According to my impressions, startups based on devices are made by enthusiastic nerds (respect to them and all that), to which you, as I understood from the question, do not belong.
Your option, in my opinion, is to hire a nerd, but only such .... passive .... but understanding in circuitry. Passive - this is so that this Zukenberg does not squeeze your ingenious Facebook. You can also draw up an agreement to fix the priority of the idea and the waiver of claims in the future.

Thinking a lot about a gadget is already bad, you need to think about solving an urgent problem.
In order to create your own startup, you first need to grow up - gain knowledge, and they come only with experience. Get a job in an industry that you enjoy and enjoy working in (may not be related to the project you currently have in mind). Become a high-class specialist there (this is a prerequisite). Along the way, you will get the necessary acquaintances. Attend trainings and other startup training events.
But when you feel the "soil" under your feet, then you can start your project.

If this is a student scientific project, the purpose of which is to teach you how to make gadgets, then only according to option 1.
If the demand for your project is confirmed and we are talking about creating a working prototype of a gadget, then option 3 can be done on the knee. If the prototype provides new evidence for your business hypothesis, you might consider option 2.
If you're just "making a piece of iron in the garage" to become the next Apple, don't. First, check the demand for the product and the availability of the market.

A couple of years have passed. How is the project? What's New?
Arduino was created just to make a prototype and test its performance.
This is exactly what you need to make a prototype on arduino, show it to the public and, if you like it, transfer it from a working arduino project to a specialized board.
