Is it worth buying a macbook air 2013/4GB/SSD 256 for a programming student?

Actually, the question is this: will the power of the laptop declared in the title be enough for comfortable work, I really want to try os x and the included buns. I am going to use Parallels (often I will need to write under win). If you give 2 gigabytes to a virtual machine, will the brakes start, given the parallel use of the Internet with many tabs and maybe something else? Plus, of course, I would like to have access to some games from time to time (like FIFA with friends over the network), but here it’s not clear what is happening with performance. Or maybe you can offer other options with a budget of up to 50,000 (macbook is possible to buy for 42,500)? Initially, I wanted to find a good ultrabook for study and recreation, but after reading the reviews of people who are not involved in pc vs mac feuds (on Habré, etc.), I was very interested.
PS Parallels will be needed first of all for Visual Studio. For games, it will be possible not to use a virtual machine, but to install windows as a full-fledged 2nd system.

Do you want to buy a poppy to put a parallel with Windows for study? And what is the poppy for? Air usually buy pictures to watch, on facebook and for travel or office. For your tasks, at least Pro is needed with at least 8GB of RAM. This is if back to back. For comfortable work 16GB of RAM. The Windows virtual machine, in order to play FIFA, will have to eat 4GB itself, at least, to work in the very butt. As a result, you buy a poppy only for the sake of an apple on the lid, and you yourself will sit there in Windows. Strange decision. I understand that you are 17 years old, chicks, show off. But decide for yourself. Your air will fly into the trash in 3-4 months, when the brakes are completely bogged down.

If you need real performance, and besides, on virtual machines - forget about Air. Only a MacBook Pro is suitable for your tasks. Air is so, an ultrabook for relaxation, you should not expect high performance from it. A MacBook Pro aged 2-4 years of a similar configuration (in bare numbers) will easily outperform a MacBook Air in terms of performance, and it will also cost less.

4Gb is certainly not enough, but it will be fine to pull everything except modern games.
By the way, all macbooks have a terrible feature - almost any game turns into a hot edge of the laptop, which is closer to the monitor, and a strong buzz of coolers.
I used the same laptop, but with 8Gb. Windows was second through Bootcamp.

A laptop with the same power from Lenovo u340p with Win8 (14"/i5/4GB/256SSD/9hours) costs 32 thousand in MVideo. Alternatively, you can take a separate laptop for VS and take a Mac Mini separately (a box without a monitor and keyboard costs 25 thousand).

Ultrabooks from Asus are quite suitable.
First found ASUS UX31A (UX31A-R4004H)
