1. What am I doing?
   
2. What audience?
   
3. What browsers does the audience use?
   
4. What technologies are supported in these browsers?
   

Understand that all such questions are individual for each task.

OK. What do you want to demonstrate to a potential employer? What skills? Do you want to demonstrate knowledge of technology? Then use pattern. Show that you know about its existence and know how to work with it. Do you want to show that you can create websites that work perfectly even on tea and coffee makers? Then obviously don't use.
