Is it safe to update Android via ZIP?

The previous question did not receive the desired feedback, so I'll be a little more specific:
Is it generally safe to update Android through zip archives? Rather, it’s not the question of what might not get up that worries, but the viruses on android that have become well-known recently. Could it be that by updating android via a zip file posted by some person, the device will be infected?
Perhaps there is some resource that is really worth trusting in this.

No matter how you pack, change the format, hash, you can still upload a virus to the file, so whatever you say, it’s not safe. Download from off-site firmware / games / programs, etc.

Without a digital signature, it does not matter in what format this or that file is. And even with a signature, you will not receive a 100% security guarantee. everything depends on the human factor in the end.
