Is it safe to register/login using third-party accounts (FB, VK, Google, etc.)?

Sometimes I see on sites that you can register using other accounts. Is it safe?

From the point of view of hijacking these accounts, Google, VK, FB are safe. Passwords are not transmitted there and there is no way to hack you somehow. From the point of view of the safety of personal data - not always. There may be different conditions for the requested information (for example, from VK). In general, this is usually solved by fake accounts.
PS It's definitely safe on Coursera ;)

I'm willing to bet. Some opportunities (to find out a little more information than they actually need; they can monitor changes in your profiles on these sites) in relation to your account, such sites still have. I recommend verifying the authority before using. Coursera - definitely safe, as Dmitry said
