Is it really scary to disable quota on a server (I use RedHat)?

Actually a question in a subject.
Used the command:
quotaoff -avug
In what case are quotas needed, and why are they?
Thanks in advance.

Disk space can be limited by implementing disk quotas, which allow you to notify the system administrator that a user has taken up too much disk space or a partition has become full.
Disk quotas can be configured for both individual users and groups. This flexibility allows each user a small quota for "personal" files (e.g. email and reports) and more space for the projects they work on (if a separate group is created for each project).
In addition, quotas can be assigned not only to control the number of used blocks on the disk, but also the number of inodes (data structures containing information about files in UNIX file systems). Because inodes are used to store information. associated with files, this allows you to determine the number of files that can be created.
