Is it realistic to compete on equal terms with studios in similar games for android?

There is an almost finished game for android os, plans to launch in the coming weeks. But recently I found a game in the Play Store with similar logic, i.e. almost identical. The games are not similar in appearance, but almost the same in meaning. The game was released by one of the major studios and has over 5 million downloads. Is there any chance of any success of my game?

Let's just say the chances are low. Any major studio has the resources to promote. 5 million downloads are not taken out of thin air, it's all promotion.
It can burn out if your game is super cool and much better than the competition. Well, if you have a lot of friends in the social. networks that will help to somehow promote the whole thing)

A large studio has a large advertising budget.

It's even good that there is already such a game on the market - it means that there are users who like this type of game - and they will not mind trying yours.
Thanks to a big studio for warming up the audience :-)
And you have one advantage: you do not need to feed a large team plus impatient investors with the income from the game.
Keep it up :-)

If the game is social, then you can make a version for Windows Phone, users of Windows phones will be extremely surprised by the fact that they have not been forgotten about and released something, the coverage of a small Windows market will be quite high, they will already pull friends with Android (:

Big studios are not always good.
Usually this is a conveyor and donation, but again. According to downloads and reviews - well, has everyone seen an article about the Chinese?)
It all depends on the genre of the game, on the quality of performance, on the graphics (if it is vyryglaznaya, then few people will play).
Well, in general, here are articles on attracting an audience.

And Schullz is right, do it on different platforms, since modern technologies already allow a lot of things.

Without marketing, the game won't work these days! The chances are 1% to 1% million.
The times have already passed where you could put on rose-colored glasses and wait for a miracle.
There are articles on the net on how to promote the game almost without investments, also read the book by Sergey Galyonkin
"MARKETING GAMES", very interesting and accessible.
