Is it possible to work with a selection as a brush?

Good guys!) such a question in Photoshop, when you select an object using the selection tool, areas similar in contour to colors are selected, etc. is it possible to select like a brush so that when the selection tool does not immediately select similar areas further ...
For those who do not I realized that when you take the quick selection tool and start selecting, it immediately covers a large area, thereby affecting similar areas ... you can do something so that it does not repeat areas, but selects only where I drive.

Good day.
In my opinion, a quick mask will solve this problem.
Press "Q" and select what you need, when you're done - again "Q".

It may be easier for you to work through the selection with a quick mask.
Go into quick mask mode (Q), select with brush, exit mode (Q).
