Is it possible to work from git with Mercurial repositories?

Actually, I want to work with the mercurial repository from git (since I'm already used to git). Heard about hg-git, an extension that allows you to work with git repositories from mercurial, is it possible the other way around? A quick googling didn't come up with an answer so far...
I'm not a programmer myself; in the repository - lecture notes. So remember commands for hg?

Do you only read this lecture notes or also write them? If you only read, then there are very few commands.
Well, if you don’t want to remember commands, then can you use some kind of GUI tool that understands both?
