Is it possible to use paid fonts in web projects?

I work mainly with clients from the USA. Therefore, a reasonable question. As you know, there are a lot of resources with cool free fonts on the Internet, or rather, they are free on these resources, but in fact they are paid :) That's the question, if I use these fonts without buying a license, can a customer from the USA have problems later Or is it hard to prove that I didn't buy?

Look who the customer is. Copywriters first need to find his site, dig deeper into the code in order to understand what fonts are loaded there, find the owner himself ... as a rule, they don’t even reach the first stage.

can there be problems later with a customer from the USA

Of course not, as you know, theft is legalized in the states, so steal with a clear conscience to your health.

He will simply be asked to show the paid payment for the purchase of the font

In any case, it is not you who must buy the license, but the customer, otherwise you will have to give him a sublicense, and this is prohibited in most cases. Because he will use and benefit.
Your task when using a font for which you need to buy a license is to convey this information to the customer and, if possible, offer a legal free replacement.
In the contract, accordingly, prescribe that obtaining licenses for individual design elements from third parties is the responsibility of the customer.

How could such a question even arise? It is obvious that it is impossible.
And I would also understand if the author worked in Muhosransk - it’s kind of illegal anyway, but who needs that Muhosransk?
But to put such a pig on American clients? .. This is a facepalm.
