Is it possible to use magento as a framework?

I just started to study magento 2. And I noticed that there is a separate magento-framework.
Has anyone tried using it not for online stores, but for other projects? Is it real and justified?

I have been working with Magenta 2 for a year now. Seen a lot. And... I wouldn't. At least because it uses zend 1, and it's not the freshest either. The second reason is that no one else will do this and in the end you will get minuses from the framecore and minuses from the "self-written system". Well, why?

Magento is a framework from the Zend framework

Surely, because there will always be someone with an itch in a strange place. Haven't personally used it)
In reality, of course, this is a slightly corrected zend, but there are big doubts about justification, except that the area closely intersects with stores, for example, a warehouse or some kind of accounting system. In projects of a very different direction, it is logical to use either zend (if you like Magenta so much), or select it for the task, which is more logical.
