when typing letters, keep this page open https://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/
in general, I can say that a third-party font is also possible, but not everyone will see it. letters should be made as simple as possible

You don't need to use plugin fonts. Few places work. I am doing the following. I love the Helvetica Neue font. It's on Mac, but it's not on Windows. I specify font-family:'Helvetica Neue', arial; and Mac users see Helvetica, Windows users see Arial.

Can you share if there are editors for writing such letters, and do they support various fonts?

You may find it useful: stripo.email/ru/blog/best-fonts-email-usage-tips-tricks/ . In general, it is possible, but many clients may not recognize it, this must be taken into account.

For mailings, it is best to use "safe" fonts . They are recognized by most email clients. For example: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Helvetica, Times New Roman. The most popular sans serif fonts are Arial and Helvetica. They are set by default on two mailers: Gmail and Apple Mail. The most commonly used serif fonts for emails are Times New Roman and Georgia. If the letter is long read or consists mainly of text, it is good to use the Verdana font. It has wide letter spacing and the text will be easy to read.
