3D printers

Is it possible to transport a 3D printer in luggage across the US-RF and RF-Kazakhstan borders?

I want to bring this printer from the USA as a gift: www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15365
It costs $200 and weighs 7.5 kilograms. I plan to cross 2 borders with him: USA -> RF and RF -> Kazakhstan.
In 2013, a furious article was published on Habré, where a printer sent by mail got to customs and it turned into hell: https://geektimes.ru/post/205038/ . Although the person received the printer by mail, and I'm just going to carry it in a suitcase, it's better to play it safe.
Has anyone had such an experience? Do you know something about the customs of the Russian Federation or Kazakhstan? Maybe prepare some papers with you? Maybe you will need to pay something? Can this be done right at the airport? And how many?
The printer will be used as a toy, but who cares...

From the point of view of the teretik
- not to carry it in its entirety, but in two+ approaches
- to clarify how they are inspected at other borders: fly not to Moscow time, but to Minsk, Kiev, the Baltic countries, then get on the ground
- see how they are inspected at the border of the PRC- Kazakhstan and fly from the States via China
