Is it possible to transfer (import) data about employees to 1C 8 (ERP)?

Tell me, please, is it possible to transfer data on employees (history for XX years: transfers / holidays / time sheets / staffing / salary, etc.) to 1C8 from another system.
Currently, the data is stored in *.dbf files (opened and read by Excel).
The other day there will be a conversation with the implementers of 1C 8 and so far their position is such that this is impossible (not basic functionality, store and maintain old databases and systems, generate reports and data in old systems (if you need adjacent years, consider it a calculator), enter all data manually (since in the 1C system, personnel with a history must go through all the stages of documents and calculations - therefore, no automation - everything is manual)).
I want to be warned and, if possible, reasonably "armed" at this meeting.
PS Yes, the implementers have an opinion that they are not for us, but WE are for them. ;)
