Is it possible to simply rearrange the ssd from one laptop to another?
Hi all!
I am planning to buy a new laptop. Most likely it will have DOS initially. I just want to rearrange the ssd disk from the current laptop to a new one. What problems are possible after that? (Not counting the loss of the guarantee, most likely)
1. Do they do this at all?
2. will the Windows license be preserved (obtained after upgrading from win7-> win10)
3. what other nuances should be taken into account
thanks

1 do
2 will not persist. the license is bound to the hardware.
3 some firewood may not be installed. Windows usually downloads everything by itself if the Internet is available.
IMHO, it's better to rearrange everything clean
Without problems, I often transfer an ssd-shnik from the main computer with an AMD
processor to a laptop with an Intel processor and no problems, when loading Windows, "Preparing devices" will hang for a few seconds and that's it.
1 do, the main thing is that the form factor matches.
2 In general, it can be saved if there is a key, or if it is tied to an online MS account
In any case, if it does not pick up automatically, then you can reactivate using the MS telephone autoinformer 8-800-200-800-2 (it helps in 90% of cases)
3 10 is able to call up new equipment, the maximum that needs to be done is to remove the old drivers by hand. for example, when moving from AMD to Nvidia video cards or vice versa
The main problem is the hardware drivers. Most likely the Windows stupidly will not be launched.
You can try to use sysprep, but in my opinion it's easier to stupidly roll Windows again. Faster and more reliable.
If the old laptop was without UEFI, then the screw may not start on the new laptop.
The driver can then be delivered, but it is better to reinstall Windows.
Clone the system. The new laptop may have M2, not SATA.
BUT.
1) Required - first make sure that the old SATA laptop works in ACHI mode. No - light up and do ACHI. This will take 5 minutes.
2) It is advisable to make the transition to UEFI - first install any ten from a USB flash drive on a new laptop, be sure to use UEFI mode. Nothing else.
3) Then just drop one system partition from the old one (disk C) onto the system partition of the new one. For example, in AdminPE using image for windows. You can connect an old disk via a USB adapter, the issue price is 350 rubles.
4) After all the manipulations - explain to the system that it is already on a new disk: issue the winsat disk command
5) Stretch the size of partition C to cover the entire disk.
