Is it possible to shorten the socket.io-client library code?

Hello.
There is a socket.io-client library which weighs about 80kb in compressed form.
Is it possible to remove extra functionality from it that I'm not going to use. From this library, I only need to receive data from the server and that's it, I don't need to send anything.
