Is it possible to restore the LinkSys E1200 router?

Good afternoon Habr!

Recently (5 days ago) it was raining heavily ... and water came to me through the twisted pair cable, flooded the Link-Sys E1200 router. I took it apart, cleaned it with alcohol, dried it, but now it starts up and goes into reboot ... I can’t find at least some kind of recovery manual anywhere.

I understand that the memory (eprom or rom) has been erased. And therefore cannot start iron. Help with advice ...

PS Diode incl. works, the diode on the link works,
the initialization diode blinks (between power supply and Internet link.

Perhaps there are Serial pins, for example, this or that , you can connect with a cord (TTL-USB, like this , you can - an interface cable from an old phone, such as Siemens).
You can connect and see what it produces.

it seems to me that a short circuit at extremely low currents cannot disable the system

… If you think so, then it is best for you to give it to a specialist. (This is a dangerous delusion)
PS: Then why not bathe your phone or, for example, a flashlight in the on state periodically, the currents are extremely low?
In the event of a short circuit, the strength of the current flowing in the circuit increases sharply and many times, which, according to the Joule-Lenz law, leads to significant heat generation. The many times increased current strength in the circuit reduces all resistance attempts to nothing, if fuses are not provided in it (and they are provided only on the primary power circuits and in the standby power supply), then the elements, and in particular the microcircuits, begin to “burn” like light bulbs on a New Year’s Eve. garland, and with a long circuit, the narrowest paths or "legs" of mikruh burn out.
(As a person who at one time decently worked as a service engineer, I declare to you with full responsibility: short circuit for most integrated circuits, and especially with multilayer textolite, is a death sentence)

Poidee they have or had a recovery mode and then you can upload the binary firmware via sftp
like this:
1. pull out the power wire.
2. press the reset button and hold it.
3. When reset is pressed, plug in the power wire. reset continue to hold for another 10 seconds
4. release the reset button.
5. Upload firmware via tftp

if it was flooded with water in working condition, then most likely you have a short circuit.
blinking indicators is not a guarantee that the circuitry of the device is working.
PS: Why did you decide that the problem is with eprom (although there is most likely Flash)?
It’s just that water is not terrible for him in this case, unless he is “pierced” (then you will have nowhere to sew)

I'm out of the situation much easier!
For understanding:
1. The router is on the floor
2. Almost a 20 liter bucket was spilled in half a meter
3. Naturally, the router was turned on.
My actions
1. Turned off the router immediately
2. I sucked out water with a vacuum cleaner for about 15 minutes and dried it without disassembling the device.
3. Put it to dry for about 2 hours in the sun (summer, outside +34)
4. Tried to reset via reset - the device was constantly rebooted (after 5-10 seconds of operation and connecting a wi-fi device)
5. As a result, I pulled out the Internet cord And made a reboot by simultaneously holding the reset + reboot.
6. After turning on the device, I connected to the Internet without a cable (via wi-fi) and started installing the software (which I previously downloaded via the Internet just by cable)
7. After the program asked for an Internet cable connection. I stuck it and successfully completed the installation.
Router is working! Hope this story helps someone.
