Is it possible to reduce the screen resolution without losing quality?

For a laptop with 15.6 inches with a resolution of 1920x1080. It's all very small in my opinion. And putting another extension, everything is blurry.

Use zoom. It won't always look good, but there's nothing better.

Purely technically, it should look more or less decent if you reduce the resolution by 2 times (1 pixel = 4 physical), but this is already some kind of perversion. Otherwise, there are no miracles. Either use scaling or choose a resolution that looks acceptable to you.
You can also read about subpixel anti-aliasing, but it already depends on the type of matrix and operating system.

If we are talking about Win10, then there is such a utility
windows10_dpi_blurry_fix.xpexplorer.com
But they also write there that this problem is solved in the Win10 "Creators Update" update - it has not yet been installed.
Personally, I tried everything, and the usual regular scaling (Screen Settings)
and manual (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display)
and this utility. As a result, I left the usual increase (Screen Settings) up to 150%, by default it was 125% (too small for me).
There are not so many programs left that do not know how to scale correctly.
For some programs, you can disable scaling in the shortcut or executable property: Compatibility tab - Disable scaling at high resolution.
UPD:
The Windows 10 Creators Update has been installed, it has become much better,
in many old programs and system utilities, the fuzziness of the text has disappeared.
