Is it possible to put the maximum amount of RAM in one slot?

The old motherboard burned down (2 sticks of 16 GB each remained), I want to buy a more budget one. It supports 2 slots, the maximum memory capacity is 16GB. I understand that 2 to 8 is better, but I don’t want to buy a new operative.
Is it possible to insert a 16 GB stick?

If dice with such parameters as yours are in the supported memory list of the motherboard manufacturer, install them, there should be no problems.
