Is it possible to project an image onto the sky?

A friend suggested the idea of projecting films or commercials simply onto the sky.
Is it possible in principle?
If so, how smeared will the image be?
Is it better during the day or at night?
Maybe you have to spray some particles in the air that reflect light, or will clouds be enough?

Projected onto clouds easily.
The second question is to project from multiple points. At the intersection of the rays, you can see the picture. This is the basis of some of the modern attempts to make a 3D image in the air. But you can only see it at night.
The cheapest and most successful way is to print text in clouds. A small airplane, a steam generator for 5 nozzles, the airplane flies and leaves an inscription behind it. You can have more nozzles, then you can make more beautiful inscriptions, but the design becomes more complicated, and out of 5 it is quite possible to write slogans and develop a startup. If you unwind, think further (more nozzles, different colors). In calm weather, it lasts for several hours, it can be seen from afar.

Even if this is possible, you will need permission to do so. Otherwise, the least you will get off with is the confiscation of expensive equipment.
And so - you need a projector with a brightness of 20 ... 80 thousand lumens (laser) - it will easily give a projection on the clouds - in the dark.
